This companion volume is optional. It expands your knowledge in relation to the previous main volume, but is not necessary to understand the overall plot. Before devoting yourself to the third main volume, just take the time to learn more about a detail of the second volume.

Life goes on as usual, but behind the scenes unexpected events cast their
first shadows on people’s fragile happiness. What at first seems like an
unfortunate coincidence quickly turns into a full-blown nightmare—and
everyone’s life is on a knife’s edge.
Within this tragic episode LEBEN finds a
continuation. The short story tells of one of the many fates that the time
around the sad climax of the “hunt” and the “Great Escape” had to offer.
This companion volume offers a deeper insight into the ARK project and
reflects part of the story of EPOCHEN—the
original idea behind the story that ultimately laid the foundation for
LEBEN.
Readers of the first main volumes will quickly feel at home and at the same
time see themselves thrown into a foreign world. In the course of the story,
it becomes clear where the story takes place within the framework of the
main story. An emotional story awaits you, which, as usual, raises some
questions—and finally answers them. Dive in once more into the mysterious

Unfortunately, the nature of the narrative and the design of the storylines did not provide the necessary space to embed the story of VOID in the second main volume.
I also wanted to give this small story a little more space to fully unfold. Based on the feedback from the test readers so far, this little book is one of the most emotional of the entire LEBEN-series.
It has given me the opportunity to use more of the original idea behind LEBEN. Only many years later could I write the short story EPOCHEN that comes much closer to the real story outside of LEBEN.
